Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board is responsible for permanent oversight of the Management Board's management of the Company, in the context of its legal and statutory obligations. To this end, it appoints members of the Company's Management Board. An Accounts Committee and an Appointment and Remuneration Committee were set up by the Supervisory Board. These committees are made up of members of the supervisory board.

Amal Amar

Amal Amar, 40 years old, is one of the Group's founders and, as at registration hereof, is Chairman the Company's Supervisory Board. He graduated with an engineering degree in Imaging, Multimedia, Audiovisual and Communication Studies and worked as a Project Manager and later a Sales Manager for the companies IBM and Business Soft. Amal Amar joined the company when it was established as Sales Development Manager for the Minitel and subsequently Internet business activities. From the outset, he has worked alongside Denys Chalumeau in all aspects of Group development.

Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux

Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, 44 years old, is a member of the Company's Supervisory Board. He graduated from the prestigious École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales business school and holds a post-graduate DESS diploma in international marketing. From 1986 to 1996, he worked as Marketing Manager and subsequently Director of Marketing in France and abroad for the L'Oréal group. Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux is the founder of The Phone House (the first dedicated mobile phone store), which he chaired from 1996 to 2000. He then went on to work as Chief Executive (Europe) for the English company The Carphone Warehouse (from 2000 to 2003) before becoming Chairman of the Board and CEO. Since April 2006, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux has been Chairman of the Board and CEO of Virgin Mobile France.

Jean Paniate

Jean Paniate is a member of the Company's Supervisory Board. He has a bachelor's degree in Law and is a chartered accountant. He started his career in the financial department of the Société des Grands Travaux de Marseille (GTM) in 1950, before joining the company Gilmarfer (steel trader) as deputy accountancy manager in 1952. He went on to be appointed Chief Finance Officer in 1953. When the Gilmarfer company was taken over by the company Hardy Tortuaux in 1968, Jean Paniate worked for the parent company as Company Secretary, then Chief Administrative and Finance Officer and finally, in 1985, as Deputy Chief Executive. In 1990, the company Hardy Tortuaux took over the Nozal company (now known as KDI (Klockner group)) and so became the leading steel trader and industrial supplier in France. After his retirement in 1992, Jean Paniate set up a business management consultancy firm and has provided consultancy services for the Group on various occasions.

Yves Derriennic-Long

Yves Derriennic-Long is a member of the Company's Supervisory Board. In 1966, he joined the Compagnie Française d'Épargne et de Crédit in order to help set up the former bank's housing information centre. Yves Derriennic-Long worked in various management roles for the UCB company from 1972 to 1976, then in 1976 took over leadership of the UCB's B-to-B marketing department. Yves Derriennic-Long left UCB in 1991 and established the company Boussole Bleue (distance-selling of holiday rentals), and the Overall company (PR agency).


Mathias Emmerich

Mathias Emmerich, 44 years old, is a member of the Company's Supervisory Board. He holds degrees from the École Nationale d'Administration, the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris and the École Normale Supérieure de Saint-Cloud. He started his career at the Auditor General's department in 1988 as an auditor, before becoming a middle-manager. In 1993, Mathias Emmerich joined the Commission des Opérations de Bourse (French securities market regulatory authority) as a deputy manager of the transactions and financial information department, before going back to being a middle-manager at the Auditor-General's department from 1995 to 1997. After working as a technical budget consultant for the Keeper of the Seals (Ministry of Justice) from 1997 to 1999, he joined the SNCF Group as Director of Subsidiaries and Holdings and then, from October 2001 to June 2004, as Deputy Director (Grandes Lignes). Since July 2004, Mathias Emmerich has been Chief Executive of the company Voyages-sncf.com.
